who, or what, we really are?

who, or what, we really are? Is this question valid or it has no meaning and
ought not to be asked. “Who am I ?” are a kind of intellectual fixation, a
misuse of words in that the question sounds sensible but is actually as
meaningless as asking “why I am here ?” when the only things
that are anywhere must be somewhere inside the universe. The task of
philosophy is to cure people of such nonsense. Nevertheless, wonder is not a disease. Wonder,
and its expression in poetry and the arts, are among the most important
things which seem to distinguish men from other animals, and
intelligent and sensitive people from morons.
Why do we need this enquiry ?
Our external world growing or degenerating with tremendous speed what we need balance or innate skill to govern ourselves otherwise one-sidedly, growing in technical power without any comparable growth in the journey of self-realization , or, the rational thinking.
All the information leads to a fact that we are just temporary visitors in the
universe is in flat contradiction to everything known about man (and all
other living organisms) in the sciences. We do not “come into” this
world; we come out of it, as plant from the soil.

The first result of this illusion is that our attitude to the world
“MAYA ” us is largely hostile. We are forever “conquering” nature,
space, mountains, deserts, bacteria, and insects instead of learning to cooperate with them in a harmonious order.
One of the most important book ever written is Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra. What makes this book unique is that it is absolutely scientific. The basic definition of yoga is union and a truer yogi is not gymnastic kind of yoga asanas practitioner but who felt the deep sense of union. Yogi never speculate and he never seek outside . sankhya philosophy does not talk about god if you are non believer it does not make any difference from believers , because ultimately you will search within and can find far valuable. Yoga is one of the many ways to reach the realization . But it is not necessary to believe in god to reach your destination. Godliness is our innate nature ; some may choose that path, others may choose another; the path is not important, the quest is. So even for once we work and conduct with common sense encompassing everyone and everything then actuality of Yog can take place. Commitment and confinement to any one path is not only intellectual suicide; it is positive unfaith because it closes the mind to any new vision of the world. The true quest , above all, open-ness—an act of trust in the unknown and freedom from known. That’s why Patanjali stresses on as “Chitta Vriddhi Nirodha” or the opening up of the mind. The aim of yoga is to reach one’s true self, and to reach the goal one has to let go of biases and prejudices. Not just a theoretical concept alone, but of the experience and feeling. Yoga is an experiential art and science both . We do not need a new way or a new doctrine . We need a new and subjective experience—a new feeling of what it is to be “I not as ego but an essence .” so once we are open to experience many ways to fulfill our innate potential then the journey of knowing who am I begins ..hjij
