The Hindu tradition holds the “Akha-teej,”or the day of the beginning of the yearly Yatra in the month of may till the festival of “Bhai-dooj,”two days after Diwali. Delotus recommends the travel plans to be within the months of May-June and September –October as July and August have a chance of heavy rains.

The Journey as per ancient Indian tradition requires physical struggles, discipline and a strong will. The Trek featured in our program follows a strict schedule for this very reason. The sense of complete surrender exists truly after a human body and mind have been exhausted in all its energy and possibilities. This is the essence of hindu thought philosophy, and the true methodology of a pilgrimage.
